Headlight Options (JDM, EURO, Diffuser, AP1)
This week someone decided to back their SUV on top of my S. In doing so they managed to damage both fenders, the front as well as the headlights. I figured this would be a great opportunity to replace my headlights with the clear corner lights as well at debadge/ patch the emblem holes in the front on the guy's insurance.
This leads me to my prediciment: What would be the best options for lights. I was going to just replace the diffusers with clear one but now that they are going to pay for new ones, which would be best. Here is what I am considering and my understanding of the problems with each:
JDM- (JDH10-13-09) the chrome lights made for the RHD market.
-Blinds drivers
-has a smaller fitted socket requiring an unknown adapter or glue. Anyone know a part #??
Euro- LHD -(part number unknown) - requires a hex head bolt and a plate in place of the self-leveling device which insurance won't cover I'm sure.
-Also has the smaller turn signal and requires new bulb
AP2 Lights- I've seen a very good write up on this but wouldn't a body shop be against non-stock mods and would no doubt charge me extra. Plus I prefer the clear AP1 style.
Clear Diffusers- Now that these are available no one seems to buy the entire assembly anymore for obvious cost savings and ease of installation. I really don't think I cnould convince/trust the shop to put the brand new headlights in the oven.
Suggestions??? I've read that MG Racing (now defunked??) has a package for the euros. Anyone know anything? Got any ideas????
Thanks,
