I have a 02 s2k w/ an injen CAI and want more power but want to go all motor. I've read allot of posts about the mugen, spoon, and dc header systems, but do they really give more power and are they really worth the money? My second question is will the VAFC hurt my car with only the injen CAI installed? thanks

There is no way for "worth" to be determined for you. You can easily spend $3000 for the header and exhaust, and gain just a few RWHP. The V-AFC will not hurt a stock engine (or a modified one), but it needs to be dyno tuned (with air / fuel ratios) to make sure you don't create a detonation problem.
You can probably get about the same gains in power from a $600 investment in a V-AFC (V-AFC with Harness, and dyno time) as you can with a $3000 investment in a header and exhaust.

experimentation is required...
several threads have brought up that there is an unknown change with the '02 ECU that appears to put out a little more power than the '01/'02. it also appears that VAFC gains with '02 are less than was seen before, which leads us to believe that honda went a little more aggressive on the A/F to get the power, which is what you adjust with the VAFC.
common consensus on a NA motor is Spoon header will gain more in the high end and mugen gains in the middle lose a little at high end. other headers have resulted in good "butt-dyno" reports, but actual dyno runs show little difference.
for exhausts, a single is louder than stock, but gives some gain. most duals show slight gain without being too much louder, almost all are lighter.
if you are on a budget, i suggest you watch the board for people that are selling parts due to upgrade or reverting to stock to sell their car.
i have a SC and am seeing different results that the NA charts led me to believe might happen, and am experimenting with both Spoon and Mugen header, stock, Supersprint and Spoon N1 exhaust to see which combo looks the best with the SC.
if you want purity of NA, it is gonna end up costing a lot to get higher numbers. if you like the power/speed, Turbo or SC are the only way to go, turbo being the more expensive option.
