header coatings...
I know there are a few folks here that are ineterested in header coatings on the DC header or any other for that matter. I've done some looking this morning and of the companies that are out there, three that are "reputable" comes to mind:
1) HPC
2) Swain Tech
3) Jet-hot
It seems like there are two types that I found:
1) CermaChrome - the popular shinny finish
2) some sort of "hard core" ceramic coating.
The difference is that the first one does provide some thermal protection but it's used most often because of it's appearance. The second type is generally a semi-gloss black or gray finish and is a very good thermal barrier.
There's one company I found that's rather interesting:
http://www.durakote.com/tbc.htm
The reason is because they actually have a product specifically meant to be the coating for the inside of the headers.
Does anyone else have any exprience in this area?
Mingster: Did HPC coat the inside of your headers?
thanks,
-Shing
