Default head modification

so i decided to buy the ap2 retainers and keepers.. months before i had mis shifted and only replaced my valves. i read through the forums about ap1 retainers cracking easily so i bought the idea. i currently have CEL, checked it out today and it gave code P1399, which is multiple misfires right? well the mechanic said it might be because i need a valve adjustment, which i definitely need! so now i'm gonna do that and order the retainers while i'm at it..

question is??? are they fully interchangeable? or do i need to make modifications?

They are interchangeable.

I would look into that misfire a little further than a valve adjustment.

i mis shifted and over revved my engine once. My valves were fine. But my powertrain control module (PCM) got messed up. It started misfiring and back firing like crazy. I changed my plugs, coils and got my valves adjusted and inspected. they said they where fine. As i drove away the car starting back firing and shuttering again. So i took it back and they said the PCM was messed. Just my experience.

I think it might be the gas. I have heard about some bad gas in certain areas of the country. It happened to me about 2-3 weeks ago.

as stupid as it seems, gas was probably my problem. i checked all the above from the CEL thread. knock sensor, map sensor, plugs, coils, injectors, and nothing. finally filled up and it's doing much better.. i feel like this
