This battery is recomended both for street and race use. Those running large stereo systems might not want to use this battery. It's been used for 9 months on a street car w/ alarm system, including being parked for over a month straight and it started the car everytime. If you have any questions, click the Contact Us link in the sidebar.

[QUOTE]The Hawker battery combines in one box the characteristics of two batteries. It can deep cycle as well as provide serious cranking power. These batteries are capable of providing engine cranking pulses of 670A for 5 seconds as well as 400 charge/discharge cycles to 100% depth of discharge (DOD). A typical battery can do one or the other, but not both. With other batteries such as Optima, you must decide between a deep cycle or a high power starting battery, but Hawker battery does both.

The cranking power of a Hawker battery is double to triple that of equally sized conventional batteries, even at low temperatures.

Nice - direct replacement w/no cabling, terminal, or tie-down changes necessary?

How is the Hawker different from the Odyssey PC680?

So Hawker is the original manufacturer, and Odyssey is the "nameplate", or is it the other way round?

Hawker makes both batteries.

They (hawker) sell/manufacture both the Hawker Genesis and the Hawker Odyssey. They are the exact same battery, except one is marketed for electronics market and the other is marketed to the automobile market.

They charge $20 more of the Odyssey. It's the EXACT same battery except w/ a black top instead of red. Oh yeah, the Odyssey's are stocked generally at distros, while the Genesis w/ the Metal Jacket is a special order item so I have to buy them in bulk from hawker.
