Leaking is not the only problem I have seen with the Hondata IMG.

I have also seen it shrink/warp inwards, partially blocking the intake flow and losing HP. The opposite of what it was designed to do, increase HP.

My advice is periodic re-torquing. On this car, the bolt access is near impossible without some removal of other parts. I think the cons outweight the pro here.

After 5 years I developed a leak from my Hondata IMG. I have been slowing losing coolant and it's been getting worse, had me concerned where it was going. As mentioned, if you have a Hondata IMG then it would probably be a good idea to check the torque regularly, I didn't even realize this was an issue. I am going back to stock, don't want to deal with any future problems that might arise.

Put it under pressure with a pressure tester.

The purpose of a gasket is to compress and seal between two surfaces, from what I've seen of those IMG's is that there really isn't anything that will properly compress. Has anyone tried to use Hondabond around the coolant passage if they insist on running that IMG ?

I'm having the same problem with my Hondata IMG... I'm going to check it and try retorquing it. Maybe I'll try the Hondabond.
