I INSTALLED THE INVIDIA TEST PIPE 2 DAYS AGO, FIT LIKE A CHARM, NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER, BUT TODAY AS I WAS DRIVING, STAYING UNDER 5,000RPMS, JUST REGULAR DRIVING, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, FELT NO DIFFERENCE IN THE CAR, EVERYTHING SEEMS FINE, COULD IT BE THE TEST PIPE THATS CAUSING THIS TO COME ON????? ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED.

Man, all I've got to say is "Duh". What would you expect to happen when you pull the CAT out? Unless you do something to trick the secondary O2 sensor this is to be expected.

Happened with mine, I have the Berk one though, had to pull the code and clear about 3 times over about 1000 miles, no problems since.

All this means is that the built in "non-fouler" on the Berk is not doing its job properly. It's not holding the O2 sensor far enough away or restricting enough of the exhaust gases from getting to the sensor to keep the CEL off permanently. A properly devised O2 sim will keep that CEL off always. People have had these things for many thousands of miles without a CEL.
As EK9 posted, why does it surprise anyone that you can just replace the cat with a straight pipe without an O2 sim and expect everything to be unchanged?

My problem with a test pipe, above and beyond the fact you're destroying the environment for maybe 4-5 hp, is that anyone driving behind you can smell that you don't have a cat. If I was a cop, I'd be driving around sniffing for that raw exhaust smell.

Let me make a point......

1.) Airplanes dont have cat's and they burn thousands of pounds of JET BLACK FUEL all day 24/7 throughout the world

2.) Bikes dont have Cats

3.) Boats dont have Cats

4.) The very small population of s2ks that do not have cats, will not make a big difference in the enviorment compared to the beasts i mentioned above.

In the end, the enviorment state wont matter, eventually we are all gonna die.

That is all

700hp skyline without cat made 7 more hp on an options video. So an S2000 with 1/3 the hp of that probably wont even make 1hp to the wheels. You need restriction in the exhuast, cut off everyting after the cat and make a straight pipe. I'm building a no muffler, no resonator single exhaust for less than $200. At least I'm losing some weight, I think u just wasted ur money.
