Default Has anyone broken a comptech reinforced differential?

I am curious as to the increased lifespan of the Comptech unit and your experiences with it. Anyone even have them? Thanks

I have been too afraid to really test it out. I don't plan on launching the car hard until the whole rear end is beefed up. I need about a grand or so to finish that part of the car up.

Drive Shaft Shop axles. No one has done them yet. I asked them how much it would be, and they said $1,000 for a pair. They'd need to have some stock axles to look at, then they could fabricate all the parts and give the stock axles back.

1 - diff - ChrisD was going to get one a few months ago, and not sure if he went through with it. At the time, and usually, they do not have a core in house. on rare occassions they do have one, but at that time they didn't and would need to do it on an exchange basis which would take a few weeks to strengthen up.

Overall, I think the diff is an improvement but will not add security to the differntial from breakage.

2 - driveshafts - carbon fiber isn't a good solution at the moment. keep in mind, we have cv-joints NOT u-joints which can easily be fitted with a cf driveshaft or even an aluminum shaft. cf driveshafts have been used for quite a while now and you can get a custom one-off made for under $800 - but will it work correctly? most likely, but you will still have the weight of the cv-joints, and I dont know too much on the reasoning with the cv-joints as opposed to u-joints at the moment to make an educated guess at changing to u-joints and an overall lightened system.

What do you guys think of the Mugen LSD? This's what it said on the King M/S site:

"After two years of development, Mugen introduces their LSD for the S2000. This clutch pack 2-way LSD is much stronger than the factory LSD eliminating breakage problems so common with the S2000. 100% bolt in."

I'd like to get this, Comptech Reinforced rear end housing & the J's final gear installed all at once.

From what I understand 2-way is a bit much for the street.
