Hardtop strikers/latches
How have you quieted noisy/worn strikers/latches that are fitted to your hardtop? I have had the strikers replaced with the steel units and they are still noisy. Any ideas? Thanks.

Re: the new strikers - Have they been noisey since day one or did they get that way later?
If they got that way, then you need to remove the plastic trim to gain access to them and re-install the screw with Locktite.
If they were always that way, then your HT seal with the top of the windshield should be poor, in which case, there is an adjustment that you can do to the latches. It's in the Helm manual and involves "shims". I've never had to do it so can't tell you much about it except that it can be done. Your dealer perhaps?

Thanks xviper, they got noisy soon after they were replaced. I'm sure that tracking the car with the hard top doesn't help. I will check the Helms about shimming the latches.

Mine are getting replaced under warranty from the dealer soon. What Ive tried and is very effective for windnoise and rattles is putting some windshield washer tubing over the latch hooks. This will also prevent the striker from scratching and getting worn
