Will hardware from an 04 fit on an 00?

Yes, but it won't have all the necessary wiring harnesses.

no, a 2000 model needs an additional relay that you will have to plug into the fuse panel under the intstrument panel if you want the defroster.

Other than that, the retention hardware for the hardtop really is common to all years I believe.

You also should have the wire bundle that connects to the left side catcher. It has a switch that acts as a soft top defeat. Not absolutely necessary but advised.
