Is there a way to test it under a load? Could this be the problem as it starts normal if I turn it over by hand no more than 2 turns?

My guess: Its a bad starter, its shorting out badly as it spins, so its killing the ignition/resetting everything. Only thing that makes sense to me, especially if its running perfectly all the other time. (not engine trouble). If its not the starter, its going to be a bad ground somewhere.

First thing I would do is check the negative cable that's connected to the chassis of the car but there are 2 things that could be the issue - alternator or starter. My bet would be the alternator. take it to autozone or one of those places and they can do a load test for little to nothing. keep us posted

a bad starter would do this, even if it is fine at a warmer temp? why would it only act up at a cooler outside temp?

check your grounds and wiring from the battery to the starter. corrosion and loose wires will ruin your day trying to diagnose this. to me this looks like a wiring issue.

Remember what should be remembered, and forget what should be forgotten.Alter what is changeable, and accept what is mutable.
