have you checked you fuel filter? if your injectors were clogged then maybe your filter is too. If the car is running fine other wise its prob not spark, compression, or air, so all that leaves is fuel. I had an older car that was carberated (i know not the same) and the fuel pump was bad and all the fuel would drain back into the tank. The resualt of this was everytime i went to start it the fuel had to come from the tank all the way to the engin befor it would start. Very long start up!!! Now if you are only talking about a couple of seconds to start it I dont think this would be the problem, but it could be. Ultimatly I would guess that the problem lies in the fuel system not with anything else. But that is just a guess. I just dont see how it would be any of you other basic componants.

there's no real fuel filter in the S, as far as i know, honda stop using real filter around middle of 90's.

to the op, did you have the injector cleaned by professional? or you just dip those suckers in actone?

i could be mistaken but i thought there was one back by the fuel pump. but i could be wrong i only have 30,000 on my car so i have not even looked into changing it. i was just trying to figure out what could possibly be the problem. As you know its hard to do a good diag on a car with out seeing it, so all of my ideas are just that ideas.

There is no fuel filter, only a fuel sock in the tank.

oh, of course, i am not saying anything bad about your advice.

it just that there's no real fuel filter in the S, there's a mesh/nylon sock around the pump and that's about it. it filters out big rock and quarters and that's about it

silvers2k01: let me make it clear: they stared to do that around mid 90's, i didn't say they stop putting fuel filter all at once and for all at 90. your gsr has one because it's a 8 year model runs?
