Hard to get into reverse...
I need a lil help guys on diagnosing this problem:
I have 2000 and my mods are listed on my sig.
Recently i noticed that my clutch pedal became unusually light, it takes a about 1/2 of full travel to the floor for the clutch to engage. Then the last 2 days, i noticed that MY00 is really hard to get into reverse when i first start it in the morning. When i said its hard to get it in to reverse, it takes a good significant amount of arm power to get it in. Although it seems like th syncrho are not lining up. In my experience since i've been driving only manual transmission, i tend to press the clutch all the way down to the floor when i put it in reverse.
possible problem:
1. Clutch pedal has too much play.
2. Air in the hydrolic system
3. Bad pressure plate??
any suggestion or input on this problem i'm having?? Thanx!!!

When was the last time the system was bled? It might be worth a shot as a first step of troubleshooting to bleed the clutch. Usually a differance in feel comes from the clutch in some way. I suppose the pressure plate could be bad like you said, but does anyone really ever see a pressure plate go bad before the friction disc? I suppose if it was covered in hot spots or something but then your clutch probably wouldn't be in the best shape either.
I would bleed and adjust the clutch and see what that does and then troubleshoot from there.

Hey same thing happened to me last week. The clutch was very soft and the engagement point was at the firewall. I bled my clutch and everything is back to normal.
