Great advice guys, I am going to try some of your suggestions and I will post back on my success. I'll also keep tract of exactly how often, and what circumstances it happens (cold, hot, 1st gear selected first, etc).

Thanks again everyone. Now I need to head out to the garage and install a new elastic net in the trunk.

Read this and do this, and double clutch your reverse gear selection and the problem should disappear, assuming your tranny fluid is fresh as well. There isn't anything wrong with your tranny that would warrant replacement.

Are you new to driving manual? The problem might be your driving style and how smooth your shifts are. This happened to me when I first got MY06. It was my first manual transmission car and the problem went away after 3 days of getting use to the manual/gearbox.

If you have a chance do the shifter lube procedure as per the TSB, it helps with 5th gear and reverse and just plain feels better in all gears
i did this procedure and the shifter felt better in all gears. i used the honda super high temp urea grease.
