gutted oem intake air box
So im planning on doing that today and was wondering what would be a good tool to use to cut it out without damaging anything on my car if i did make a mistake. and if anyone has pictures of their oem gutted intake then that would be a help. thanks

I used a dremel to saw down the middle of the huge sections vertically, then used a soft hammer to tap them out. They snapped off clean and there was practically no sanding/smoothing left to do.

Those Honda Engineers put a paper filter in that box. Stands to reason there may be some room for improvement, yes. Some things are engineered for practical purposes rather then performance enhancing ones. The stock air box is designed with compromises, one of which is to be quiet.

Or why the gas cap release is so hard to find at first...

One good thing about a gutted air box is that you can run a larger(longer) air filter. So it will flow more air for a longer time than a stock air filter before it gets dirty enough to change.
