OP. Did you check the oil AFTER starting the car and turning it back off? On a level surface? I'd check it again now.
Unless you maybe didn't drain all your old oil out? Was the old oil fully warmed up before changing it?

Never have a problem reading Honda dip sticks.. the yellow plastic ones for mazda or VQs are way worse.
Always read the lower side.
always clean your dip stick
always start the car after the oil change and double check again.

Read both sides. The side that showed the oil level above the H after a 5 quart jug is reading high due to oil being picked up from the windage tray. The other side will read correct (basically always read the low side)
If you guys want a tip, sandblast or glass bead the end of the dipstick. Makes a dramatic difference when reading new clean oil.
