Grinding/rattling noise and cluster light problem
Hi all,
So I'm fairly new to the S2000 world and so far I love it. It's a 2006 Silverstone S2000 with 122k miles and I bought it around the end of May. I'm from Virginia and I recently took it down to Charlotte, NC for a weekend trip for the 4th. I filled the tank up in Charlotte before I left so ~300 miles ago and today as I was driving to go get gas, I noticed that the cluster started saying "Check Fuel Cap". I haven't driven it since I came back from Charlotte on Sunday and that "Check Fuel Cap" did not come on at all during the entire trip. I checked the fuel cap as it requested and made sure the cap was on tight and I am still getting that warning.
Also, I noticed today while I was driving that my car makes a weird grinding noise (or could be rattling, hard to tell) when I take my foot off the gas or the clutch. It's a pretty noticeable noise. I've read many places saying that rattling in a S2000 is somewhat normal but I've had it for a month now and definitely have not heard it before. Also, i noticed around the center-upper console is fairly warm as well but I don't know if that's something I have just never noticed before. I'm fairly new when it comes to cars and fixing them so I don't really know what the problem could be. I'm taking it in to a shop tomorrow to get a full alignment on it and a transmission fluid flush since I don't know when the last time either of those were done and were wondering what I should have the mechanic take a look at while he's there? Or if any of you guys have any idea what it is.
Thanks
