grinding noise in tranny when slowing down
So I just bought my second s2000. This one is a 2002 with 130k. I've been noticing this grinding noise in ever gear and all rpms when I start to slow down WHILE IN GEAR. Example: driving on highway then letting go of the gas pedal. The sound makes a sound like the wear bar on the brake pads is on the rotors. Its sounds like a metal grind kinda noise. I don't know how the "clutch buzz" sounds like either. But if im on the highway and just put it in neutral, it's quite. So im thinking its the clutch buzz but I imagine the clutch buzz actually buzzes, mine sounds like metal grinding. What do u guys think?

Clutch buzz is most prominent between 3k and 4k rpms in gears 2 and 3. If the noise you are hearing is not loudest under these circumstances, I'd think it's not clutch buzz. If it's just at loud at highway speeds in 5th or 6th, it's not clutch buzz.

Any gear its the same sound and just as loud. Small road driving I can still hear it when I let go of the gas. Throw it in neutral then its quite and push in the clutch pedal, its quite.
