Two years ago, my car would always grid in the cold. I tried greasing it up, made no difference (as previously stated).
Now, it's magically gone away.

i replaced all of my motor/trans/diff mounts (edit) and it stopped doing that. My passenger side motor mount was completely destroyed as were one of my diff mounts, but you couldnt tell until you jacked up the car, put it on stands, then jacked the motor up a bit, it was torn almost completely off. Perhaps the stiffer mounts keep movement to a minimum so the starter can pull straight back in a quicker fashion instead of rocking around and getting caught on the flywheel... just a theory... ill let billman be the one to test it lol

Starts since i put them in: approximately 45. not a single grind.
Before the mounts: EVERY F*CK*NG morning.

Experiencing the same issue. It started on my first crank after replacing the TCT. Only happens on a cold crank though. If the car is still warm it starts just fine. Guess I'll try greasing the starter a bit, or if worst comes to worst, just get a new starter.
