Grease for clutch Disc splines...
Need Help.
Putting in my Exedy clutch disc and the Honda Manual says to use:
Super High Temp Urea Grease
P/N 08798-9002
on the splines of the clutch disc before installing it... I have grease at my shop...
Valvoline Semi-Synthetic Durablend P/N 278
it says it is good high and low temp protection and is rated to 400 degrees F...
Is this good or do I need a different / higher rated grease?
THANKS

If you can get your hands on the stuff from Honda, it would be best.
The grease must be high temp and a better grade then bearing grease. The Valvoline Semi-Synthetic sounds like it may do the trick

The Valvolin Durablend is synthetic and has a moly additive but uses lithium as a thickener
Urea grease uses.. as the name implicates, urea as a thickener.
After searching around I've found that urea is "better" at high loads & high temps.
I would stick with the manual.

dope answer.
dope answer.
Anyway..
Urea is short for polyurea.
Most high-end EP greases use it as a thickener.
IMO this also shows its a complete waste to burn oil for something as simple as heat or to make electricity.
The chemicals in raw oil should be used for stuff like this.
For heat and such "we" should go nuclear.
Fusion.. not fission.
Well.. for now fission would be accepatble until "we" get fusion under controll.
(this is probably another "dope answer".. isn't it?)
