Yes I am done my homework by reading the past threads. But I am quite a newbie so I am hoping to get some feedback from you guys for the go ahead.

transmission fluid: Honda MTF
Differential fluid : Red line Synthetic Gear oil 75w90 gear oil
Engine oil : Red line Synthetic Engine oil 10w30
Oil filter : Honda Hamp Oil Filter

Am I all set?

Thanks

How many miles do you have on your car? You will want to leave the factory break in oil in the engine for at least 3750 miles, preferably 7000 miles, according to Honda.

Also, you do not want to put synthetic oil in until the engine is broken in (stopped burning oil), around 7000 to 10000 miles.

Where are you going to get the Hamp oil filters? I thought that this was a Japanese product that wasn't generally available here in the US. They are supposed to be very good.

Hi my car has about 11000miles now, I have done the break in properly and changed all the fluids at 5000miles.

I did a search on this webiste and people posted a link where you can get the filter in the US. http://www.shopresponse.com/oil_filters.html

So are the products that I listed above ok or are there better recommendations?

So you are using MT-90 in the transmission? I think it is a hair heavier than the Honda MTF.. did you have any 1-2 grind problems, and what impact did this lube have on that problem?

I have considered a heavier lube for the gearbox to reduce the grind and I am interested in any experience.

I did briefly try RL MTF but it seems to be thinner and made things worse.. I did not keep it long.

Yep...that's what I was told to use...I was told the RL MTF wasn't the right stuff for our cars and that I should put MT-90 in...so that's what I did.

At 4000 miles I changed the tranny fluid and put Honda MTF in to try and fix my 1-2 grinding problems and my hard downshifting problems.

No change!

I didn't exactly have 1-2 grind problems before the change but I did prolly grind the gears 20 times before 8000 miles...at 8000 is when I changed to reline and I am at 9000 now...I've prolly ground gears 10 times since changing but I believe them to be all my fault... Every time I have ground 2nd gear I can honestly say I was distracted and wouldn't have ground 2nd if I had shifted differently. I don't blame the car...I blame myself...the car's 2nd gear has a very very very low tolerance (I think this is because of the extra syncro) so therefore everyone has these grinding problems...Most people on the board say the grind from 1-2 is a tranny problem...I feel you just have to get used to shifting 2nd perfectly and you won't have problems. This is just my opinion though and I will prolly be yelled at for it...

My main problem before the change was even when the tranny was warm it was very difficult to downshift to 2nd...and near impossible to downshift to 1st any thing unere 15mph... Redline has completely remedied this problem and this is the problem that bugged me so much. The tranny is much smoother and shifts better than ever...it just seems as if the tolerance of 2nd gear has gotten even less and you really need to shift 2nd correclty in order not to grind a gear once in a while... I have only had it in now for a little over 1000 miles....Hopefully it sill continue to shift this well...

Wow that was long...

I'd suggest going with Redline Shockproof for the rear end. Very good stuff. Needs to be changed a little more often (say every 10k - no biggie). Lots of protection. For max safety go with the heavyweight, otherwise use the lightweight. Do not use superlightweight, it's a little too light for my tastes, although it would probably protect fine.
