Mixing oils - while not necessarily a "bad" thing - is not a good idea either.
There is nothing wrong at all with mixing Redline transmission fluids, Redline even recomends it for certain applications (Mitsubishi cars). Sometimes MTL is too thin and MT-90 is too thick, but if you mix the two you get the perfect viscosity. I've run that mixture in numerous Mitsu transmissions and it works wonderfully (much better than straight MT-90 or MTL).

you only need 5 quarts of oil just fyi...
Our engines actually hold more than 5 quarts. Mine takes about 5.3 or so, but some people report needing almost 6.

$500?? Last time I took my car to the dealership, they charged me ~$30 to change my diff fluid when I supplied my own fluid. To say that you were ripped off is an understatement to degrees I cannot even begin to comprehend.

Mine always took significantly more than five quarts, even when stock. (I now have an Amsoil double filtration setup with a bypass filter, so my capacity's quite a bit more, about 7.5 quarts IIRC.)

First - where do you live (disposal laws)?
Second - buy a quality floor jack and four jack stands - ~$100 - $115 or so.
Third - tools - a socket/combo wrench set that goes up to 24mm (diff) - you can piece this together as well. A trans/diff oil pump. All together, another ~$120 - 135 or so.
A level floor...
Good oil and filter (engine) - ~$35 engine change (syn + OEM filter), ~$20 trans (syn), and ~$20 diff. (syn).

$290 - $325ish for your first time (plus your time). The tools pay for themselves, the freedom of working on your own vehicle - priceless.

Everyone calm down. It's cool-wrecked my car before I got the chance to change any fluid of any kind.

Yea, I'm actually serious, unfortunately. 4,400.00 in damage. I will be fixing and putting in all redline stuff, though.

Like I said, just for the hek of it. I know fluids can be debated for an eternity. But at least I get to add "redline fluids" to my sig

BTW, keeping your car in one piece is more important than what brand this and that

Sorry to hear about your car. That sucks.
It sounds like you came out okay though, right?

Good luck. Hopefully the repairs don't take too long.
