Default GMSMFM - how long does it take to notice?

I put it in the trans 100 miles ago and I still can't tell a difference. How long does it take to be able to notice? I thought for sure it would be a big change, (everyone says the shifting becomes way smoother) but I may go back to the Honda stuff.

I changed mine to GMSFM about 6Kmiles ago...and noticed the difference nearly immediately (a couple of days). I never had any grinding problems, but, the tranny seemed to shift noticably smoother - especially 1 > 2.

Changed tranny fluid to GMSMFM yesterday. Have felt a difference, but not much. I guess diffeent cars react different ways. My tranny fluid had 43k on it.

It makes a huge difference in a MY00, especially when it's cold out and the transmission is not warmed up for at least 30 minutes. The change in shifting is noticeable within a few miles.

Maybe your MY05 does not need it. Did you "need" to use it, did your transmission shift okay before switching?

have you bled your clutch yet? I did the honda MTF and new clutch fluid and it made a world of difference.

I had 1-2 gear grinds before chaning to GMSMFM and after the change i havent experienced one gring in 5k miles yet. I notice a lil notchyness at frist start up but quickly becomes smooth afta driving one block.

I could tell a difference the moment I backed the car out of the shop after the oil change. I tend to describe the difference as a "significant" improvement.

Try to keep things in perspective though. Different people perceive things, and describe them, in different ways. What's "significant" or "huge" to one person may be just a "slight" improvement to someone else. You're the first I've read that said they couldn't tell a difference. It just goes to show that there are no guarantees.

EDIT-200 miles go by and I can really tell the difference. The GMSMFM with Voodoo Titanium knob combo is amazing. Really takes my appreciation for the car to another level.

Go by your local Chevy or Cadillac dealership. Make sure you get the friction modified version. They love to say the have the GMSM version and it's the same!
