running the new 07 MTF for approx 1200 miles. very happy with the fluid. i think it's too early for subjective opinions of the new Honda MTF. as to mine, no crunching on fast shifts when warm and easier to shift when cold shift. i have approx. 1200 miles on the new 07 honda fluid.

Keep that GM stuff out of your tranny, it sheers very easily as it begins to age and will not hold up in the long term (>3k miles). I personally run Redline MTL but my 2nd choice would be the Honda MTF for sure.

i've tried amsoil mtf, specialty formulations mtl-p, and the origional oem fluid.

each comes with their +'s and -'s.

amsoil, smooooooooth at low rpms. notchy as hell at higher rpm's and shifting quickly.

mtl-p. smooth most of the time, but requires more effort, makes me worry about the syncro's

oem, notchy at low rpm's, but very smooth at high rpm's.. i did get an occational 2nd gear grind tho, and this hasn't happened with the other fluids.

most likely doing the 07 oem fluid soon. my 2nd gear sucks with the mtl-p

My 1->2 was pretty crunchy/notchy when the transmission was cold, so I decided to try the new Honda MTF.

I've been running the new Honda MTF for 2300 miles now.

After I put the new fluid in, it actually kept on being notchy for a while longer. A few hundred miles into using the new fluid, wham, it became perfect. I have really smooth cold shifts now. I don't know why it took those few hundred miles to show its effect.

BTW, the car had 7000 miles when I changed it out, so it had Honda MTF in it before. Considering my results, I see no reason to change to anything else.

it takes a few hundred miles for the fluid to make a decent change because ap2's have carbon fiber syncro's. they're pourus so the fluid sort of has to soak in.

usually around 300-500 miles for me for it to get good

I gotta try that. I've gotten in the habit of revving high in 1st so I can just trhow it into 3rd when it doesn't go into 2nd. It's a pain in the ass in cold weather.

It's also kind of hard on your 3rd gear synchro unless you wait for the revs to come way down.

is this true...what source(s) did you get that from? can anyone else backup that statement?

i've probably got 15k or so using GMSFM and it still seems fine to me. i will be changing it out in the spring but i haven't decided what to go with yet.
