GM synchromesh transmission fluid for S2K?
I've decided that I'm gonna lean more towards GM synchromesh from what people are saying. Is there just one kind for manual transmissions?

No, there's multiple kinds. You want the kind that says "Friction Modified" on it. GM P\N 12377916, AC Delco P\N 88900399. They're the same thing, just re-labeled.

Googling looks like that's the same stuff. The dealer I went to said they change part numbers a lot on fluids. I don't remember the number I used with them; they gave me the 889... one.

I've found the opposite - I've used GM SFM, Amsoil, Honda, and GM fluid works the best, although after a year I change them out.
I think each car is a little different - try the different fluids and find the one your S likes best.

I've had the same experience and have gone back to redline.

Will let you know how it feels over the MTFII. Right now i have the typical AP1 notchyness going from 1->2, 2->3 and a fresh change of the Honda MTF hasnt helped....im hoping the GM fluid helps..
The GM part number i used was 88900399.

gm part number 12377916 was actually discontinued, you could always have the dealer to a locate and see if any other dealers have any stock of it lying around.
the 88900399 is the acdelco friction modified fluid, but for some reason it has a totally different smell compared to the 12377916, which makes me think it is slightly different
