Glue for Cat Conv repair?

Ok, autozone only had 14mm. They guy couldn't even look it up to see if it came in different sizes.
O"Riely's had the correct 18mm size.
Bought a package of two. Got the drill out, gradually drilled them out. Busted a bit off in the first one.
Got the second one out. Did the same thing.

Get another pkg and try again. You really only need to drill one out and piggy back this ontop of the undrilled one which will be screwed into the cat. You could always stop by a machine shop and give the guy a few bucks to drill it out for you.

A few things...
I don't know what a bung is but images of Bevis & Butthead appear in my mind.
I had the same problem w/ my 01 and bought a used cat and O2 sensor from a local member 3 yrs ago and haven't had a problem yet (knock on wood).
Another idea would be to attach a coupler about 1" or 2" long to the threads of the sensor input of the cat and screw the O2 sensor into the coupler. This should keep the probe out of the way of the panel (I call it an element) and hopefully won't set off any CEL codes.
Another idea is some stuff called Liquid Steel. It's in a tube and squeezes out like toothpaste. Drilling some holes like someone else suggested with the welding idea and squeezing the Liguid Steel in there may help keep the element in place once it's cured (24hrs I think). I don't know if using the Liquid Steel would set off any CEL codes or not.

FYI, keep in mind that the cat has an 8/80 warranty. Just had mine replaced (06 w/ 73K) for this exact problem.
