Getting car off ground. No lift or jacks.
I want to change my own oil, and transmission and differential fluids. I don't have a lift and only have the jack that came w/ the S. What iare my best options? I don't mind spending a few bucks as I will use whatever I buy again.

well it depends do you plan on doing alot of your on mechanical work or just a little. You could go cheap pick up a wal-mart jack/jack stand combo or go to sears and and get some nice stuff just depends on you. To do a diff/tranny change you MUST get a fluid pump that screws onto the bottles Napa sells them for about $7 if you dont get it you will suffer alot. I bought this works great . . .

PLEASE do no get under the car using only the factory jack!
If you're going to use that as a jack, be sure to invest in jack stands before going under. Jack stands are cheap ($15 at sears) and well worth it.
As for a jack, almost anything would do. I'd say get a decent rolling floor jack but make sure it fits under the car. I think it's something like $100 from Sears and less from China online.

You can get a pretty decent set of jack stands and a floor jack for a decent price. If you are planning on doing the work on your car anyway it is totally worth it. Pretty much you will pay off the set within a few oil changes since you will save a buttload. If you are lowered you will probally need a low profile jack to be able to reach the front and rear jack points though. Those are expensive compared to a regular floor jack, but still worth it in the long run. Do the safe thing and get yourself the right tools.

No need to get a fluid pump. All you need is about 4 ft of rubber hose that will fit on the cap of the diff fluid bottle. Put one end of the hose in the diff fill hole and then put the other end of the hose on the bottle. Stand outside the car and let the fluid drain into the diff. Can do the same for the tranny.

you could always use the OEM jack and just make sure to loosen the wheels first and then put them under just in case the OEM jack fails. Would hate to loose an s2k owner because of that.
