Gearbox Noise
Hi,
I have a 2001 with circa 100k miles on the clock. The car has been fully serviced at Honda all its life.
However, over the last 12 months, a whining noise from the gear box has developed which i ignored at first! It has now got considerably louder to the point where it is very noticable at low speeds. It happens in all gears and neutral, whether the clutch is depressed or not and still makes a noise if you coast along a road and switch off the engine.
I have had the car on a ramp and listened when in gear and it sounds like it is coming from the front of the dearbox. The gearbox oil level is fine!
Any ideas?
Thank you in advance.

Most common is the tail shaft bearing.
It can be replaced with the trans in the car.
