Gearbox...All compatible (UK)?
Hi Just bought an s2000 after dreaming for years, i thought i'd stop pining for one and just get it. However, the lay shaft bearings are going to become a big problem in the next few months and i'll need to replace the gearbox. I've found a gearbox but need to know whether (in the UK) you can put any pre-2007 gearbox in any pre-2007 S2000?
I've found a 2006 gearbox, I know it will fit, but am unsure whether the car will drive the same.
I know they've changed gear ratios but is that on US cars only?
cheers for your help

If that gearbox came from an F20 car > its the same.
No F22's in the UK unless someone imported one.
Gearbox ratio's didn't change in Europe.
But having US(AP2) gearbox ratios in a EU(AP1) car isn't bad.
Its good.

You are a diamond, thank you.
I've phoned loads of people, specialists, dealers, the best i could get would be that they have to have the registration from both cars for both parts and then compare the numbers.
My Lay shaft bearings are wearing down, as well as noise from the clutch springs and/or exhaust bushings, it doesn't sound too great in deacceleration in gear!
I think I should get about another 500 miles before it starts sounding awful. Cheers.
