You've never taken a long road trip have you? Stopping twice as often sucks when you're traveling 1000+ miles a day.

To the OP, go by the mileage. If you're on the highway you're save going 280-300 gallons no problem. If you're beating the car up on back roads, 200-250 depending on your level of excitement.

At the track, you're lucky to get 100 miles.
You know I think we're all smart enough here to separate road trip driving from day to day driving.

This OP is talking about getting down to the last drop on his tank. Scan Gauge allows for that.

That said, day to day, driving 180-200 miles and filling up is no hardship. If you live in a natural deserter zone and ever find yourself without easy access to fuel you won't mind the regular fill ups.

!!!! The last 2/3 bars disappear like THAT! I start the car it has one or two than when i drive its bounces up, and when i get on highway goes straight back down. Will just have to do a the trip meter. BUMP FOR AFTERMARKET GAS READER?>!
You realize that driving with your tank near empty is hard on your fuel pump. The fuel pump uses the gas to help keep it cool, so it runs hot.

You're driving like those fools I see who run out of gas and look dumb struck "I thought I could go further". Just get some gas and stop being so stupid. Last 2/3 bars is 'empty!'
