I had that gas cap seal problem too. Tri doing this: Instead of tighning the gas cap from the middle grippy thing....Firmly hold the gas cap from the outside ends and tri doing the 3 click thing. it seals alot better that way.

I got the car back. They did the job under warranty. I tried the gas cap and it came off and went back in like a hot knife through butter. So far, so good.

just a quick note on this: some dealerships will require the CEL for this particular problem to be on in order for them to cover it under warranty. It may not be every dealership, but I know of two here where it was required.

There is a Honda service bulletin, (04-002) which addresses this problem for MY 02 & some MY 03's. Some vehicles came with fuel filler tubes with deformed threads for the gas cap. As a result the cap can click before it's seated, causing the check engine light to come on. The fix is to replace the filler neck.

I think you go in through the trunk. The TSB probably gives a description of it -- why is that TSB not on this site? In fact, no 04-xxx TSBs are on the s2ki website. What's up with that?
