Gas cap broke, now can't remove gas cap
So I guess it was due to the fact that my gas cap is 15+ years old and its sub-freezing outside this morning, but when I went to screw back in my gas cap after getting gas I got one click and then the plastic internals on the cap must have snapped. Now I can't unscrew the cap (and if I try to screw it on more it just spins with no clicks).
This guy had the same problem and people recommended taking an oil filter wrench or vice grips to the outside of the cap, squeezing and twisting to remove. https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/527...t-get-it-open/
Has anyone else had this problem yet?
The LOL FML moment was that I only filled up with ~1.5 gallons so I could make it to a cheaper gas station tonight to fill up, hahaha.

It spins freely.
I was able to remove the cap just now; had to squeeze really hard on the OD in between where the handle part is and twist. Just picked up a new cap from Honda ($22 FYI).
But to further my FML day, I got a nail in my tire on the way home from Honda and it lead (very quickly) to a complete blowout of the tire. It was like 30 seconds from me noticing something was off with the steering to the tire completely separating. Luckily my spare was still pressurized so I made it home.
I'm just going to go to sleep till tomorrow.
