Just some more data to consider:
aRrakis reported exactly the same failure in his IK22 Denso Iridium plugs in xviper's spark plug thread. Others in that thread reported engine misfires even on NA engines.

You can get NGK 7173's locally at Advanced Auto Parts. Cost is about $1.89/plug if I remember correctly.
I did have a negative electrode break off one of these plugs. I won't speculate as to how/why it happened. I think it was a combination of things. I will continue to use them, however, I will NEVER let anyone install them other than myself.

Skip, as I was researching through NGK and other site, I found that 7173 is 1 step colder than our stock. according to their web site, you should increase as per 75 to 100 hp increase. If I remember correctly, I heard that you were putting down 390 hp at the wheel. If so, I believe using 2 step colder spark plug would've been better.
NGK for OEM 2000
part# PFR7G-11S, Stock# 7772. Platinum tip, 14mm, 3/4" reach, 5/8" Hex. heat Rating: 7, Gap 1.1mm (.044")
NGK for 1step colder
part# R5672A-8, Stock# 7173. 14mm, 3/4" reach, 5/8" hex, heat Rating: 8
NGK for 2step colder
part# R5672A-9, Stock# 7405. 14mm, 3/4" reach, 5/8" hex, heat Rating: 9
So, I think it would've been appropriate for you to go with 7405 instead of 7173. I hope someone else can confirm the information I have.
cheers,

Thanks, Paul! I like your number that you gave me. I was only up to 371.
Now @ 0.
Perhaps for daily cruising I could use the 7173's and then switch to the 7405's for autox/track. I guess I'd need to tune for that as well.
