Yeah, I love it when the Gregorian Calendar is a mystery to some.

Also, to Grant B, you did notice that was the entire engine AND transmission assembly, correct?

Thanks. This is the only source of F20C weights I've found which actually goes into detail on what is or is not on the motor/trans. It seems like the OE Miata engine/trans combo is 280/80 lbs fully dressed (with exhaust manifold), not that anyone here probably cares. I am surprised the iron engine is lighter, as the F20C doesn't even have iron cylinder liners.

Clark, some forums prefer to keep all pertinent info in one thread. I admit I am surprised I got a response.

It's physically a larger engine, has larger pistons etc etc. Has more gadgets ie VTEC solenoid, more drastic oil cooling system. Larger headers etc etc. But im pretty sure the engine block alone probably weighs more or less the same ~30lbs diff

Ah, thanks for this. I bought a NA Miata with a F20C in it, and always wondered if the motor weighed more or less than a Miata's 1.8L iron block. Looks like its a bit heavier.

Is this with a stock weight clutch/flywheel assembly?
That would be a sweet car. Post pics please.

I know that the stripped block is pretty light being that it is all Alum. I did notice that our crank is really heavy.

Anyone know the weight of the LSx motor and trans?

Grant B,

Sorry for my sarcasm earlier. You clearly have plenty of info to add and valid questions, which we do like in these threads (even old ones) as well as having had a valid question.

I jumped to a conclusion, based on the fact that your post initially reeked of silly posts people often make not noticing the thread is years old.
