Yes, but that was based on a preproduction development ECU from Honda that was pulled out of a crusher car (press car?) in Europe. Don't ask me how these things migrate to Hondata, but they do end up with them every once and a while. It was a special unit with a reprogrammable chip in it already (and test ports, etc.). It worked just great, but its a one off.

so it's two years later, is the speculation tru? are they gonna kill off the s2k? is the f22 inferior to the k20??? are there plans to put ivtec into the next s2k? what is the next s2k???

The K20 was inferior to the F22, but then they came out with a "Type R" badge for it that makes it comparable to the F22. But the soon to be released "Type R Powah!" badge should once and for all make the K20 better than the F22.
They are putting iVTEC in the next S2000. Its gonna be a 1 liter 2 cyl motor making 837 (SAE Net) HP, so start saving now.
Due to complaints that interior room in the current S2K is limited, the new S2k will be a convertible 8 seater. Plans include space for 12 cupholders, and 16 DVD entertainment screens (so that each occupant can focus each eye on one screen).
