Fuse Issue? Dead Radio and Power Outlet
The other day I was using a tire pump plugged into the cigarette lighter/power outlet. Everything was working fine but when I was done I went to pull it out and I really had to tug hard to remove the plug.
I plugged my phone charger back in and it was dead. Weird. Later that night, I tried a different charger. Still dead.
Today, I went to turn on the radio and it was dead too. The head unit (stock) has a little blinking red light so some power has to be reaching it. I'm able to eject a CD, but I can't insert a CD unless I manually shove it in. Once it's in, I can eject it using the eject button. But overall, the radio is dead.
Could this be a blown fuse? Are my two issues related or just a coincidence?

Yup, fuse. Had same issue. A defective usb charger in the cig lighter outlet, outlet stopped working, no radio. New fuse, problem solved. Wish I remembered which fuse it was...

#18 fuse. Radio has 2 power supplies. One constant and one through the ignition that it shares with the power plug. Got to get the compressor running before you hook it to the tire. The fuse can't handle the current draw of starting the compressor under load.

Handy information.

I thought it was fuse #9 must be my damn dyslexia. Anyway, check the wiring on your 12v socket, that's usually the culprit that causes that fuse to pop. Either that or your 12v socket is bad. If that thing's ever been loose to the point it pops out there's a chance some wires are exposed as it's pretty sharp back there.
