Fuse 5 keeps blowing - cluster, soft top, power steering
Hi,
I'm having an issue with fuse 5 under the steering wheel. It blew a week or so ago and I replaced it with a new fuse, then it just blew again today. Replaced it and it blew right away after starting the engine. Things that don't work that are apparently linked to this fuse:
Cluster (no lights on anything at all)
Soft top
Passengers side window
Power steering
When the fuse blows, interestingly the power steering still works until I shut down the engine for the first time.
Has this happened to anybody else and how I can start figuring out what's wrong? I would assume something is wrong with the power steering. Where do I look to disconnect that?
Any ideas would be much appreciated. I'm not really sure where to start.

Sounds like a short... maybe to the roof motor or window. Did they work prior to the fuse blowing out? Done any work to those areas, which may have lead to a pinched or shorted line?

Check your references. This is only a 7.5a fuse and the windows are each on separate 15a fuses (each) as is the roof. Some "control units" are on this fuse. Power steering is the main suspect.

Yea I have the right fuse. Fuse 5, 7.5 amp fuse. When I replace the fuse, then the passenger window, cluster, and soft top all work. After a few seconds then the fuse blows again. Interestingly, the EPS still works fine until I shut down the car after the fuse blows. Where is the EPS control unit located and what does it look like?

Eps unit is the gold/yellow box next to the battery.
