Default Funky tread wear...

Hey guys,

I couldn't find what I needed via search so I wanted to get your opinions. The insisdes of my front tires are worn bald while the rest of the tires have quite a bit of skin left. Its an MY01 that I bought used through Honda and I've put about 8k on these tires since I got it (stock Bridgestones). Is this wear pattern normal or is there some type of alignment issue?

I probably had 1/8" more tread on the outside than the inside of the front tires when I replaced them. It's worth an alignment when you replace them.

Tire so far.

10K Miles
- Rear OEM S-02's shot with even wear.
- Replaced rears with standard S-02's (didn't understand until later that there was a difference)

20K Miles
- Front OEM S-02's shot, heavy inside wear
- Rear S-02's shot with even wear.
- Replaced all four with Kumho 712's (245/45 -16 in rear)

40K Miles
- Rear 712's shot, more wear at center due to over inflation
- Replaced rears with Kumho 712's (245/45 -16) dropped inflation to 32psi

It looks like the Kuhmo's are going to have double the tread life (at the cost of grip)

Yes, this wear is normal...we have -1 degree of camber on the front, hence the inside wears faster. I recommend having the tires flipped so you can put them on the other side and get more mileage. I have 27k miles on the original fronts and still have tread left.

I have a MY03 that I have put 1,400 miles on. I do mostly spirited hard driving through twisty country mountain roads at night. I understand that this car has 1 degree of -camber in the front. It might sound contradicting, but I have been monitering my tires, and the outside corners of the fronts seem to have signs of scuffing. It looks as if the rears might wear out first. The car handles great. The only time it understeers, is when I give to much throttle in a tight 2nd gear corner, (a slight squeal) which is not even necessary

afetsman means taking the tire off the rim, flipping it, then putting it on the other side, hence, they are in the same direction.

so you are just saying, taking the front left tire off the rim, and placing it on the right side rim? the 'flipping' part got me confused. I didn't know you can do this. interesting...
