It doesn't clear the casting enough to be able to rotate it fully. Maybe about 45 degrees max rotation in either direction before it'll make contact.

Also, if you rotate it to a horizontal position, the flow is directed in a way that I found inconvenient. I ended up using a section of tubing on it when I drained the oil. I found the thing a bit too fussy for my taste.
Adapter is definitely needed. I've already ordered it, but I'll most likely be also getting the standard valve. The SX series is nice, but not for this car.

I used Fumoto on my Tundra back in the day and the flow rate is sloooowww compared to without it. With the 5.8L engine with huge oil capacity, it takes forever to drain the oil (like 5+ minutes vs something like 20 seconds without). Needless to say I have no patient for 5 minutes so I pulled it out. The Tundra was sold but the valve still sits in my tool box. LOL.

Was this 5 minutes to drain, with the oil cap off, to relieve vacuum?

Thanks!

I want to say "YES" because I'd like to think that I'm not that stupid...but honestly I don't remember. It has been like 10 years or so ago. LOL
But a quick google search indicates that I'm not alone and they did mentioned that the oil cap was opened...(even though it's not a Tundra, it's the same issue..)

I always let mine sit and drip to get as much out as I can. On any car, without a valve you will still get dripping for way past 5 minutes. I pop the valve open/remove plug and go do other stuff for a good 20 minutes either way just to let as much drain as possible.

If you start and warm up the car before you change the oil this helps a ton as well. And is a good practice anyways. Just dont burn the crap out of your arm reaching down past the exhaust to open the valve on the S2k

With the bolt out AND the filler cap removed (hot oil) it does drain quickly. However, the slower Fumoto allows precision filling of bottles or containers (with the nipple and tube) that combined with the on/off ability of the Fumoto makes for a clean and oil pan free of oil operation. Besides, nothing like draining the oil and searching the fridge for a cold beverage. Who cares if the oil drains fast???

Slower drain makes for less mess.

What is a oil change without a big mess? A waste of time.
