Default Fumoto Oil Drain Valve(s)

Hello,

Would like to inquire about experiences with Fumoto products. What model valve do you use and if you use the adapter? Did you purchase direct or through a vendor? Also, your short or long story using the valve and any advice you have.

I am giving consideration to the F106SX model with ADP-106 next oil change around January. Main concern at this time is I would not want it lower than the current drain due to possible damages being low to the ground.

Appreciate any and all input!

My car is pretty low and it's my daily driver. Ive been using the Fumoto valve trouble-free for about 8 years. I think it's with the adapter - install was a long time ago!
The only issue I have is the valve is comparatively slow to drain compared to the oil pan bolt. It is very easy to use though and it's never leaked a drop of oil.

I've used mine for a while as well. I use whatever JS2k sold, less the additional attachment. I love the simplicity of it.

I was skeptical. Afraid it wasn't worth the risk. But everything I read from everyone that tried it was all positive.

Si I tried it. It was simple to install. Seals well. Easy to operate. I ain't getting any younger, and its nice to be able to change oil without having to get under the car.

It resides fully above the pan. Nothing hangs low.

Really like the idea of these just a bit worried about them vibrating loose.
There is now way you could safely torque these brass things to the same spec as the stock plug?

Seems the torque spec for the adapter is 25Nm https://fumotogiken.shop-pro.jp/?pid=139048995
Pretty far off from the stock 39Nm. That's 18 ft-lb vs 29 ft-lb in imperial units.

I have one of the newer style ones where you can rotate whatever position you would like, but you need the extended adaptor so it doesn't end up pointing downwards.

I bought it directly from the website.

Only gripe from me is it is much slower than just the drain plug, but I just take my time and flip the switch and move onto the oil filter.

I did have two times where my switch was flipped on my Accord from snow/ice impacts since my switch is pointed down, but the newer style one I was talking about you can rotate it.

Haven't had a problem, been using one for 5 years. If you're worried about it draining slow, go for a drive around the block before you drain your oil. I drive to the local auto zone and just do my oil change in the parking lot. I figure I'm dropping off my oil here anyway. Plus if I need supplies like rags or brake cleaner, I can just buy it while there.

I put a trash bag under the pan, put the filter in another trash bag, along with any garbage, ie empty oil bottle(s) paper towel soaked in oil(gotta clean my drain pan). I put my 5 quart bottle I just emptied into the engine, over the trash bag and dump the used oil, plus some brake cleaner I use to clean my pan. Then just fold the bag over the oil bottle. The bag catches any spills. Then walk in the store dump my oil, touch my face, then wash my hands, and go home.
