Fuel Pump/Pressure Questions
Brief history : We have an S2000 engine already installed in a kit car (Westfield). The Honda ECU, etc. has been junked in favour of a fully mappable (fuel and ignition) system from DTA (here in the UK - www.dtafast.co.uk).
I have some questions about the fuel supply :-
What is the stock Honda S2000 fuel pump pressure output (I think it is 50psi) ?? We will need a pump capable of supplying this pressure.
If we use a pump that outputs 60 psi, will this matter?? I am assuming the stock pressure regulator in the fuel rail will the return excess fuel to the tank and the mappable ECU will take car of the mixture.
Would it be better to fit an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, or will this not matter if we are using our own ECU, etc.??
Any thoughts ? (Of course I could buy a Honda fuel pump, but I think it would be relatively expensive !?!)
Thanks - Richard
