In my experience, the car is fine without it, which, to me, shows that it did nothing.

Just because YOU didn't observe something does not mean it didn't happen.

Out of curiosity, how does your post contribute anything meaningful to the conversation? Try not to be an ass.

So let's try this: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/805...ock-fpr-thing/

if the screw has fallen out, it has become useless as they are set from the factory at a precise rate. time to get a new one.
Maybe someone else with more experience can confirm/deny.

It contributes something meaningful; I drove my first AP1 without this screw for over 120k miles with the plastic cover missing and hole exposed and never had a single hiccup, which shows that it DOES NOT negatively affect the car if it is missing. Better? I don't care what its technical purpose is, the car CAN and will run fine without the screw . Simple observation from a long term owner

Interesting. Have you shared your 'test results' with the engineers at Honda? No reason to waste money on an unneeded part...

Oh, are you implying there is something unique about the S2000 fuel system that doesn't require a fuel pulsation damper while other Honda 4 cylinder engines that are currently in production do require a fuel pulsation damper?

The damper is there to prevent vapor lock, there's a rubber diaphragm inside it, the screw holds it. The damper is smooth inside so there's no way for the diaphragm to rip if the screw is missing. It's meant to work with the screw, but the diaphragm can do it's job without it.

Been having a slight rattle I've been trying to track down, was hoping it was this screw coming loose since it sounds pretty common but when I got home and checked... that was not it mine was tight
