Thumbs up Fuel Injectors Leaking?

So I went to willow springs a couple weeks back and had a blast. I ran the car hard but made sure to be conservative on the clutch and the RPM's. However, while coming out of the main straight I did hit the rev limiter down-shifting twice (but each time was extremely brief). The day progressed and I eventually started on home. While driving casually on the freeway I thought I was following a really gassy car or something......But after 10 miles or so I started to realize I was smelling something coming from my own car. When I got back home I checked it out and found that the last fuel injector nearest the fire wall was emitting a gaseous odor. I triple checked all the fuel rail bolts and everything was static, nothing had even broken loose. I did however notice what had been some extremely light fluid misting/dust coagulation around the injector. So I took some carburetor cleaner and sprayed the area down so I could at least see if any new fluids were coming out....After I sprayed everything away, I heard a small hissing / "fizziling" sound coming from the injector (keeping in mind the entire car was turned off at the moment)...At this point I thought I'd have to replace all the o-rings and injector bushings....I let the car sit the rest of the day. MAGICALLY, from the next day onward, all the problems went away! No engine check lights ever came on, no more gaseous odors, no RPM hiccups. What gives? Can anyone make any sense of this? Could the injector o-rings re-seated themselves?

maybe something to do with extra heat from the track day? over expanded seal due to heat? never heard of it but you never know...

I was wondering if tapping the rev limiter briefly could have anything to do with it? Extreme heat could be possible....Although....the entire day was between 17-45 degrees. And after each run I popped the hood and let the engine run for 5 min. before shutting it off...Keep the ideas coming! I'm kind of afraid of tracking it again until I figure out what the hell is going on.
