Default Fuel Gauge Issue

Not too long ago I installed a vortech s/c with no issues. So, I thought. I almost ran out of gas the other day with 2 bars left on the fuel gauge. I proceeded to the gas station and pumped in 12.5 gallons. Another time I pumped in 10.8 gallons with the gauge still reading 2 bars. Any ideas?

Thank you!

it has somethin to do with the fuel pump! my friend installed a comptec blower with the walbro 255, and ever since then when it gets to 2 bars its almost empty.

I found what appears to be the problem in an old thead from the forced induction forum. Unfotunately I won't have time to fix it for at least a week.

[QUOTE]When I installed mine, the float got hung up on the fuel sock.

Yup, it's the orientation of the filter bag interfering with the float.

You just re-installed it incorrectly. I did a small write up on the install and such awhile back. I hated taken out that damn plastic piece. lol

I hear ya. I'm torn, because I've already adjusted to my gauge being off by 2 bars and I don't really feel like digging the fuel pump back out.
