It's just that Honda doesn't mention fuel filter replacement in it's literature, so no one would think about changing it if the filter really exists. Probably some Honda techs out there that don't even know it exists as Honda doesn't call for it being replaced. But I agree if you are in the tank doing a pump replace what you can and don't go back in there for a while.

If by chance you do get yours replaced post up some pics to prove the filter does exist on our cars here in N. America.

That's a housing from an Accord, you'd have to cut one apart on a S2k to find out. Either way, AHM doesn't consider it recommended or required.

the S2000 and Accord have the same part # for the housing, so they should be identical

Huh! Well that's interesting. I never would have thought that was a filter.

here they also replace it once every few years.
it's a huge job involves removing seats and all rear interior plastic.
i think even soft top should be removed - but somehow they manage to avoid that.

according to service manual if there a is a fuel pressure drop - fuel filter is one of te things to be replaced.

They're crazy if they do all that. The only thing you need to remove is the rear tray and the front trunk lining. It's a pain to squeeze in there, but very doable.

just to add to this.. I recently purchased the replacement fuel filter assembly from Honda and the filter may be slightly different than what came with the car.. not sure why this is.. but the wire harness that connects from the pump to the housing + ground is slightly different. Instead of 1 ground, there are 2 grounds that must be mounted to the housing. The filter/insides could possibly be different as well, but there is no way to tell without dissecting it.
