Default Front wheel flaps

So what are the mud flap looking pieces in front of each front wheel? Mine are both torn loose at the outboard bolt. There is no plastic under guard left to reattach them to so can I just discard them? Could not find out their purpose.
Thanks

They are aerodynamic aids.

They push air around the tires, if I remember correctly it reduces lift. Honda was ahead of their time with this as pretty much all manufacturers are using them to gain fuel economy on vehicles and stuff....

I guess I'll just remove them.
Thanks

They don't really do much unless you're going over 80, to be honest our rear bumper might as well be a parachute. Not to mention our under floor isn't the most continuous surface ever. Yeah the underbody aero is pretty lousy on this car, it's a tradeoff, keeping things simple and easy to work on. A flat floor would go so far to reduce drag and lift.

I think it would run better without the rear bumper.

That's what I did (front and rear).

I would think the more you lower your car the more useless that piece gets.

I took mine off before they fell off. They would hit every time (no matter what angle or speed)I pull into my work parking lot. I'm just running Koni Yellows and Eibach Pro Kits.
