Front Passenger Side Brake Locking (RHD UK)
Hi all,
I'm rather perplexed after my 2005 S2000 recently failed it's MOT.
A "lagging nearside front brake" was the cause with it apparently activating after the others.
I replaced the front calipers as it was on my list to do, I also stripped down the carriers and cleaned and greased the slider pins. On putting everything back together, the front left brake is locking, under hard braking, about halfway through the pedal travel. The system is bled, discs and pads not that old.
Any thoughts? I'm confused as a puppy with two peckers!
The tyre pressures are all good too!

Sometimes the pads have excess paint or metal on the backing plate where it meets the caliper edges, that impedes smooth pad motion. If so, this needs to be filed down to shape and smooth. Apply light coating of brake grease to thesespots on plate to promote smooth motion (and prevent rust on now bare metal).
You mentioned newish pads, so betting this is the cause.
If not, next would be rubber brake hose. I've seen where a piece of inner rubber peels off inside, and forms a flap which acts like a one way valve. Allows piston to clamp, but effectively release. Brake drags.
