Default Front Caliper Dust Seal

Any one have a secret for the dust seal when rebuilding the front calipers? I have been struggling for a couple of hours now. I have tried seating it in the caliper and on the piston and cant get either the caliper ring to seat or the piston by the boot to start it back in to the cylinder.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
TIA

Hey that worked great itsnoe30. Thanks! I have to order one new rebuild kit as I found I ripped one of the boots being too rough before your trick but now I have got it. Can get it all prepped and ready for the new kits arrival next week.

Can you just use whose clamp and expand it?

I need to do this too and dont want to spend too long on doing it

It might work but I think perhaps there may be too many sharp edges? The rattle can top worked well for me, I cut it a little bigger than the 3/4" suggested, seat the boot in the caliper, insert the can top, expand it, pull the seating ring for the piston up and out then fit the piston in. When you get the piston all the way in it should seat itself in the recess (I checked by pushing it back out).

Just run compressed air into the brake hose hole of the caliper, use a variable blow gun, and run a very low amount of air.

while air is flowing, just put the piston against the boot. the boot will blow up like a ballon and go right over the piston.

Once you are practiced, you can install a piston in 5 seconds.

Just did it a few days ago took my pistons out, just to inspect their condition. After 115,000 miles, dragons, track days, they look as new as if they just came out of the box.

I had a 2004 that was so rotted and packed with rust the calipers were frozen solid.

His brake fluid was never changed. Mine gets super blue ever 2-3 years or so Brake fluid repacement is a great investment.
