Default Front bumper air duct?

Has anyone tried cutting the front of their bumper so that air would just feed right into the intake??? I know there is the alex bumper duct but the price for it is crazy.
I am thinking of doing this to my bumper as I am gonna get a new bumper very soon. Just wanna know if anyone has done this before....
And yes I searched it but came up with nothin..

Tinker cut holes in the front to feed his intercooler. Ghetto, but effective

chargespeed makes a carbon or FRP duct insert for ap1 bumpers. you could duct it up to your intake i guess. or jsut use it for brakes as was intended.
