I'm aware of that to the fullest extent. I was just wondering if it would safely help the engine receive cooler boost.
If you have an intercooler, I don't think this mod will decrease intake temps any further. Let's put it this way, my intercooled intake temps during normal driving hovers around 40*C. The coolant temp is over 90*C. The length of time the air spends as it passes throught the TB isn't enough to heat it up or cool it down.

On a NA car, who knows.

from what i know
this is so that your car will warm up faster
it runs coolant through the tb so it gets warmer air which allows it to warm the motor up faster
this is also for if you live in a cold climate, it keeps the TB butterfly from sticking or seizing.

this "mod" has been debunked not only by others, but by myself and some friends as well. it does absolutely nothing to give you any extra horsepower, nor does it make the overall air going into the engine any colder. some believe this can be done to prevent heat soak as well, but it doesn't. it's a placebo effect. i believe the word RR uses is cognitive dissonance.

this must be done in conjunction with the hondata gasket, of course it wont help normally, have you ever temp tested your intake after a long drive, since its connected directly to the head, it gets couple hundred degrees. LAME. now i can set my hand on mine at any time, and i have HD gasket and no coolant going to the mani anywhere. that should help you guys get facts straight. LATE
